Training Simulator

ESIMLAB provides opportunity for the chemical engineering students to know what is happening in the industry. ESIMLAB trained students will have edge over their counterparts in the competitive scenario with respect to their knowledge in Instrumentation & Control and Process operations. Sound fundamental concepts can be easily reinforced with basic models. With Complex process models, one can understand the intricacy and complexity of the actual units.

With ESIMLAB, students will get trained in all the features like Trending, Tuning, and Graphic windows/panels of a typical DCS system. ESIM comes with three different DCS interfaces, namely Honeywell's TDC3000, Centum XL and Centum CS3000 for every model. User has the choice to select the DCS interface. This is a unique advantage of ESIMLAB, because even a student sent to industry will not get an opportunity work in different DCS for a single process.

Student can manipulate Controllers (Take Controllers from Manual to Auto, Auto to Cascade, Change Set Values, Change Outputs) and Digital Tags (Start/Stop, Open/Close) and monitor their effects from Instrumentation point of view. They can also tune the PID values of a controller. Complex Emergency Shut Down (ESD) system and interlocks can be easily understood. One can understand why a cascade level controller is better than a direct level controller. He can also find out the advantages of a feed forward control over a feedback control. All these, by hands on training on the system, based on the concept of "Learning by Doing".

Instrumentation and Graphics Editor Software

ESIMGRAPH will meet the requirements of academic institutions to know the basics of Graphics development. Our software is user-friendly and is provided with a Graphic User Interface that runs on Windows system.

With ESIMGRAPH, the user can create simple or elaborate instrumentation drawings. These drawings can be either black-and-white or color. The user can save and print his/her drawing; he/she can also use ESIMGRAPH along with ESIM Training Simulator for live mapping of the tags, during simulation model development.

Computer Based Quiz Package

EQUIZ is a "computer assisted learning" software program that allows Instructors, teachers and other educators to easily generate their own on-screen interactive quizzes, exams, and questionnaires. EQUIZ supports multiple choices and "True or False" style tests. The quizzes and tests that you create can also be printed out for conventional paper and pencil tests.

Features:

• Both multiple-choice and "True or False" type can be used in the same quiz or exam.
• Display graphic images as an option for each question.
• Option to add sound files and multimedia files to your quizzes. Each question in your quiz database can have a sound file, a bitmap image or animation linked to it.
• Quizzes can be printed out in several formats to meet the needs of both instructor/teacher and trainee/student. The solutions to each question can be suppressed or displayed on a printout.
• Very customizable. EQUIZ provides many configuration options allow the program to be customized by a instructor/teacher to meet the needs of a trainee/student.
• As an example, the teacher can force a student to answer "x" number of questions before they are permitted to exit the program. Or the teacher can set up a time limit for the student where after "x" number of minutes have elapsed the program will quit. Dozens of additional configuration options are available.
• Progress charts are kept for each quiz that will record the trainee/students' quiz results. This is an excellent way for a teacher to track the progress of a student. A separate progress chart is maintained for each quiz created. Detailed log files can also be obtained which shows each question displayed to the student and the student's response.
• Display ASCII text files or Windows help files in conjunction with each question.

Multi Media CBT on PID Controllers

ECBT-PID is a multimedia CBT on the working methodology of PID controllers and the basic principles of tuning the same.

ECBT-PID will start with an introduction to Process Control. It will describe the various components of the controller loop, the role of the algorithm, and key concepts. All the jargons associated with the title will be explained through easy to understand format including pictures, animations and movies. It will have online quizzes at required intervals to ensure that, whether students understands the topics as they go on the course.
